FirstService Residential is seeking a full time Maintenance Technician to service a portfolio of communities in the greater Baltimore, MD area. This is a field based position that requires at least 25% travel time on a regular basis.

Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain an attractive, safe and pleasing environment for residents, perform routine maintenance in the common areas of a group of communities.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Receive and complete work orders as distributed by Community Managers or supervisors.

  • Track and maintain hours, materials, costs, and paperwork for payroll and billing purposes.

  • Report back to Community Manager or supervisor regarding status of work.

  • Safely utilize company vehicle for work related travel.

  • Rotate on 24 hour call service.

  • Report unusual and irregular conditions to the Community Manager/Maintenance Supervisor for possible new work orders.

  • Maintain cordial, professional manner in dealing with residents, contractors, Management, etc.

  • Assist in maintaining all equipment, supplies and materials in functional working condition in a neat and orderly manner.

Skill Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred. Technical background from university or vocational sources a plus.

  • Must be competent in basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical and HVAC.

  • Be able to communicate well and often through email, phone and our online platform

  • Minimum 1- 3 years experience in general grounds or buildings maintenance.

  • General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry trades. Must be able to operate tools and equipment related to facility maintenance.

  • Must have and maintain clean driving record, and be able to pass background check.

VIEW JOBS 5/15/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-08-13T00:00 We are seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician whose responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining and repairing different areas of the property. This is achieved by performing work orders, assisting in the maintenance of interior and exterior systems and preparing apartments for occupancy according to protocols. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned): * Assists in completing work orders of various types including, but not limited to: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, drywall, painting, appliances and make readies. * Assists in the preventative maintenance and general repairs of the buildings' exterior and interior systems * Assists in maintaining swimming pool(s) and spa(s) * Responsible for being On-Call for emergency work orders and lock-outs * Assists in snow/ice removal (where applicable) * Assists in completing Monthly Facilities Plan tasks * Assists in completing BOSS daily duties and tasks * Assists daily in picking up trash on the grounds * Assists other departments with moving furniture including unloading and storing supplies * Attend all mandatory employee staff meetings and company safety meetings/webinars * Understand and follow all safety protocols including understanding MSDS on use of chemicals * Report any observed violations of property rules and regulations to Maintenance Supervisor/Manager and/or General Manager * Responsible for understanding and following the ACC key policy * The core of American Campus culture involves everyone being fully invested in everything that we do down to picking up the smallest piece of trash. No matter their position or duration at any given property, everyone picks up trash.
