Routing / Scheduling Clerk Job Description
The Routing/Scheduling Clerk coordinates between various departments to control the flow of street sweepers. He/she will be responsible for the efficient dispatch of trucks and handle the associated administration. The Routing/Scheduling Clerk will ensure the smooth running of sweeping operation, issuing routes to drivers and correct documentation to ensure that all administration is taken care of regarding the dispatch of trucks.
Routing/Scheduling Clerk Responsibilities and Duties
Perform routing clerical duties in an effective and efficient manner.
Manage the logistics administration for sweeper trucks 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week.
Ensure that files and records are maintained with no outstanding work orders, while also examining all documents to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Organize and prepare information for scheduled routes, as well as maintaining personnel schedules and maintenance orders.
Manage labor and maintenance costs.
Oversee all production schedules and work orders to ensure that backlogs or shortages are kept to a minimum.
Manage all routes throughout the month to resolve and troubleshoot routing problems.
Answer and respond to customers' inquiries regarding routing problems.
Work with GPS software to verify routes are being completed.
Summarize and document route accounting activity.
Ensure compliance of company policies in route settlement functions.
Other duties as assigned.
Desired Education and Experience
High school diploma and previous experience in scheduling, clerical and communication work; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Attention to detail
Strong communication skills, oral, written and active listening
Organization and documentation skills
GPS Software experience preferred
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
