Working out of your home, you will be servicing the West Point, NE area. The Service/Sales Route Technician is provided a company truck, competitive compensation and excellent benefits package including vacation, sick time, medical insurance, and a 401k retirement plan. Route experience is not required; we will train the right person and provide them with all the tools required for a successful career.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Service/Sales Route Technician will be responsible for an assigned territory to manage each month. Your clients include a variety of businesses ranging from restaurants, food plants, warehousing to office buildings and residential homes. You will also be required to build new business through sales.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Drive company vehicle to client sites to provide services in a professional and safe manner

  • Build route density by finding new prospective clients and looking for ways to add value to existing clients

  • Participate fully in training opportunities to enhance knowledge; and to meet requirements for licensing and safety standards

  • Work in a safe manner by adhering to OSHA, state requirements, and Plunkett's policies and procedures

  • Maintain proper inventory of tools, equipment, and materials in company vehicle to complete all work and tasks assigned

  • Project a professional image; is friendly, pleasant, and courteous when dealing with internal and external clients

  • Perform effectively with minimal direction and without direct supervision

  • Adapt quickly to change and work under tight deadlines

  • Organization of own work and completion of work on a timely basis

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external clients

  • Work as part of a team that provides "Best in Class" solutions and client service

  • Cooperate with company management by performing any other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to read, legibly speak, and understand English; must be able to communicate clearly and effectively to clients and Plunkett's employees

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Utilize application equipment (spray guns and bottles, hoses etc.), inspection equipment, and small hand tools

  • The ability to work extended hours and some weekends

  • Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

  • The ability to pass state licensing exams

  • Physical capability assessment, favorable drug test, and acceptable background record is also required

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience working with minimum supervision; able to problem solve and keep detailed records

  • Six months experience in a route management, route sales, customer service, sales or account management position

  • Has experience using computer-based and mobile applications

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Communicates through telephone conversations, face-to-face interactions, texts and email

  • Lift/push/pull 25lbs-50lbs regularly; some routes may occasionally require lifting/pushing/pulling up to 100lbs

  • Extensive bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching overhead, climbing a ladder, working in confined spaces, walking for long periods, and sitting for long periods

  • Utilize application equipment (spray guns and bottles, hoses etc.), inspection equipment, and small hand tools

  • Tolerate a variety of environmental conditions; indoors and outdoors during seasonal weather, damp locations, and dusty locations

SUMMARY Drives truck equipped with auxiliary concrete mixer to deliver concrete mix to job sites by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned * Comply with all Department of Transportation requirements including but not limited to licensing, vehicle inspection, and hours of service. * Inspects the truck as required at the start of each workday, completing the Driver Check-off Sheet which indicates that all systems are functioning properly. * Drives truck to location for unloading in a safe manner * Backs truck under batching or loading hopper to receive concrete. * Climbs the ladder, approximately 10-12 feet, on the mixer truck to view the load of concrete for consistency and amount, to inspect the drum for cleanliness. * Adjusts the trailer axle pressure depending on the weight of the load. * Follows written and verbal instructions to include city street maps and has the ability to complete necessary paperwork. * Maneuvers the truck up to deliver concrete to the point of delivery. * Assembles concrete chute(s) weighing 35-50 pounds each. * Moves hand and foot controls and understands and follows hand signals while operating the truck. * Cleans truck after loading and after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck. * Sprays surfaces of truck with acid compound to clean truck and drum in accordance with company standards. * Reads, understands and complies with the Safety Manual and Employee Manual. * Understands that attendance and punctuality are required each day of work.
