Route Collection Operator- Automated Side Loader

Description

The position works within the Solid Waste Division within the Public Services Department and operates a variety of equipment under general or limited supervision.

Examples of Duties

• Will drive and operate or be trained to drive and operate all Solid Waste Division collection equipment. Primary duties will be collecting solid waste and recycling material by driving and operating an automated side loading refuse truck.

• This position, like all CDL positions in the Public Services Department, may be required to assist in storm response/clean up.

• Some manual labor is required.

• When not operating equipment used in the collection of solid waste or recycling, operates light equipment and hand tools.

• Shall perform other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Typical Qualifications

Valid South Carolina CDL Class B required.

Supplemental Information

Salary depends upon experience. Starting Salary for RCO I:

$38,756 to $44,865
