Bell is seeking a Rotor Dynamics Staff Engineer, who will be responsible for design, analysis, flight testing, and certification/qualification activities related to all rotor components. Systems include rotor blades, hubs, dampers, and swash plates. The position also exercises due consideration for subsystem integration. The Rotor Dynamics Staff Engineer must be familiar with multiple types of rotor hubs, particularly articulated designs. Additionally, the Staff Engineer supports the dynamic and kinematic design analysis, manufacturing, assembly and validation of all rotor components. The candidate must understand the analysis methods and design procedures to ensure minimal risk in certifying the rotor configuration.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversees rotor system design, analysis, and component definition

  • Supports analysis of the rotor configuration to ensure stability margins and overall performance

  • Supports manufacturing and testing of rotor system components and sub-systems interpreting technical data and assisting in product improvements.

  • Participates in a cross functional team supporting flight testing of the rotor systems.

  • Advances the state-of-the-art rotor system design through creative thought, personal and team research, and strong technical analysis and presentation skills.

  • Ensures compliance, customer and industry specifications and company best practices in support of air vehicle performance and safety requirements.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering is required.

  • Other equivalent engineering disciplines will be considered with sufficient applicable experience.

  • Master's Degree or PhD in the Engineering as described above is preferred.

Position Requirements:

  • At least 15-years relevant experience in rotor system development and rotorcraft flight testing.

  • Ability to coordinate analysis of rotor system.

  • Must have demonstrated success working in a team environment and articulating technical data and concepts to a wide audience of individuals of different technical backgrounds.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize a variety of activities and tasks while dealing with change.

  • Previous experience working on cross functional engineering programs is preferred.
