Position Description:

Flowserve's Taneytown, MD Pump Manufacturing facility is seeking newly graduated Engineers to participate in an Engineer Development Program. This program is an introduction to the rotating equipment industry and is designed to provide new engineering graduates with a comprehensive on-boarding and training experience. The program offers you the opportunity to experience different roles and responsibilities within our array of departments before being assigned to one particular group. With this program you will:

  • Get hands-on work in a variety of engineering disciplines

  • Develop your knowledge of engineering and our products

  • Network with a diverse group of talented individuals

  • Build relationships across department (and state/country!) lines

  • Learn where your true talents and interests lie

  • Attain an overview of the opportunities within Flowserve

Each assignment is specifically designed to allow you to grow and develop your knowledge, skills, and abilities. The assignments vary in length as well as responsibilities, with a minimum duration of three months. The possible areas include Commercial Operations, Project Engineering/Management, Product Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service After Shipment.

At the conclusion of the Program, we will work with you to place you into a department that aligns with your career goals and the company's engineering needs.

Position Requirements:

  • BS in Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering

  • Computer proficiency, specifically with Microsoft Office

  • Excellent organizational skills with close attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team orientated, and Continuous Improvement environment


  • Knowledge of rotating equipment helpful
  • FEA and AutoCAD experience a plus
