Our R&D efforts span ten key mission areas: space control; air, missile, & maritime defense technology; communication systems; cyber security and information sciences; intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems technology; advanced technology (electronic or electro-optical technologies, biotechnology and chemistry); tactical systems; homeland protection; air traffic control; and engineering innovative systems to test new concepts.

Strong candidates will possess:

  • BS, MS or PhD degree in one of these majors or a comparable technical field: Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Molecular Biology/Biochemistry, Materials Science or comparable technical fields

  • GPA of 3.25 or above

  • Academic achievements and campus involvement that have prepared you to interact with other top performing scholastic achievers and experienced staff in teams and across project areas- Due to the unique nature of our work, we require U.S. Citizenship.

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE: * Develops, implements and maintains the Facilities strategy in collaboration with regional leadership across all functional groups to ensure continuity of philosophy, cost model, service levels, flexibility and capital risk tolerance. * Develops operational strategy of Facilities team both internal and outsourced functions, ensuring a flexible, scalable staffing and service model. * Creates a proactive environment which is sensitive to the changing marketplace, cultures and business sensitivities to ensure fiscal responsibility. * Define, drive and execute overall Facilities processes and methodologies for data capture analysis and reporting of metrics used in decision making and Maintain buildings and infrastructure in an operational state, including planned maintenance, unplanned/emergency maintenance and prosecution of routine work orders SCOPE: * No. of direct reports: 2 * No. of indirect reports: 5 * Also responsible for outsourced service providers, included in budget but excluded from headcount. ACCOUNTABILITIES: * Direct the planning, engineering, maintenance, daily operations and budgeting of the facilities and property administration programs and processes across 4 campuses in two states holding 5000 employees including GMP Laboratories and a Pilot Manufacturing facility. * Lead and develop an outstanding team of facilities operations professionals of approximately 5 and manage site relationships with the IFM's * Oversee the ongoing delivery of core outsourced services including food service, janitorial, shipping/receiving, mailroom and facilities helpdesk * Develop capabilities of individuals and of the organization. Attract, develop and retain the best talent. * Work in collaboration with the Capital Expenditure team to develop and administer a short, medium and strategic long-term capital improvement plan that will support the business's corporate goals * Work in collaboration with the planning and design team to administer the corporate furniture program and internal CAD function in the management off all CAD drawings and facilities operations documentation * Participate as an active member in the company's Crisis Management and business continuity program, including responsibility to act as Incident Commander during any crisis situation DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS: Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise * Successful track record of designing and implementing site facilities strategies that achieve desired results. * Strong business and financial acumen. EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Required Experience/Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of outstanding performance providing facility operations and project management services in a senior leadership position (Engineer GXP and Manufacturing Preferred) * Exceptional leadership skills and experience leading a team/department * Exceptional facilitation skills * Facilities experience in the area of life science, and/or scientific research is required. * Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of building construction and maintenance; knowledge of the principles and practices of effective budgetary management, as well as financial modeling * Demonstrated knowledge and ability in applying the principles of design and construction project management Preferred Qualifications: * GMP Experience in a Laboratory and Manufacturing environment * Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of building construction and maintenance; knowledge of the principles and practices of effective budgetary management, as well as financial modeling * Demonstrated knowledge and ability in applying the principles of design and construction project management * Experience working with all relevant facilities management computer technologies, such as AutoCad, Revit and CAFM systems. * Environmental Health and Safety experience in an R&D and Manufacturing environment * Knowledge of LEED standards, and a commitment to sustainability in construction, renovation and operations * Any of the following certifications are highly desirable: Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certified by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI). * Third party contract negotiations and contract management * Crisis management and business continuity planning along with HAZWOPER training * Exceptionally skilled at stakeholder management and negotiation.
