Compensation includes a base salary of $70,700.00 - $106,100.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

The Root Cause Engineer designs, installs, configures, implements, assesses, and supports all aspects of infrastructure environments, providing technical guidance and oversight and acting as a point of escalation and technical support for servicing batteries. Job and Responsibilities

  • Perform root cause analysis on EV batteries and related components.

  • Design and author engineering documents to describe root cause processes based on specific diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and other observable/measurable phenomena.

  • Communicate assessments/findings in an organized and cohesive manner.

  • Troubleshooting complex systems and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and up to 2 years' experience; or 14 years' experience in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline strongly desired (engineering, computer science, meteorology, physics, math, or chemistry).

  • Proficient in Process Design/Validation, Process Documentation, Statistical Process Control, or EV battery systems.

  • Proficient with MS Office, Visio, and Smartsheets.

  • Strong competency and familiarity with basic electrical theory

  • Familiarity with circuit board components identification and understanding.

  • Experience soldering with lead-free solder.

  • Experience with using a DMM.

  • Experience using an oscilloscope.

  • Experience with LabView or SolidWorks

Working Environment

Variable, consisting of the office environment, the manufacturing floor, and some in field situations that require travel. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery, and exposure to High Voltage systems. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection, and appropriate footwear for the working environment. Other PPE considerations include wearing full arc flash gear for periods of time.
