Roofer Helper / Laborer - 2 Open Positions (Ashland, VA)

Roofing Helper / Laborer Responsibilities:

• Unloading materials from truck and unrolling roofing material

• Ensuring there is enough material for entire roof or repair project

• Lifting roofing materials onto roof

• Clearing debris from roof

• Scraping or pulling off old roofing marterial

• Assist in installing paper and shingles to make repair to shingle roofs

• Assist in applying layer of tar on roof

• Assist in cleaning membrane to prepare for roof repairs

• Clearing out gutters and drains

• Assist in affixing metal sheets to roof boards or frameworks

• Assisting in locating and fixing leaks

• Repairing damage caused from storms and high winds

• Performing other related duties as assigned

Roofing Helper / Laborer Qualifications:

• Driver's license preferred but not a must

• Must have reliable transportation to and from office

• CANNOT be afraid of heights

• Must be comfortable working on the roof of multistory buildings

• Ability to follow and apply direction from the lead roofer

• Must be able to perform other duties as assigned by lead roofer

• Must be able to pass a background check - checks are performed on all employess

• Must be able to climb ladders

• Must be able to lift 80 lbs.

• Must be able to use roofing tools and repair materials

• Must be able to work outside on roofs for extended periods and in all weather conditions
