We are looking for an Inspector with commercial roofing experience. Local to the ATL area with minimal travel

Pay: $65-85k base with bonus + commissions

We are a full service commercial roofing contractor that not only focuses on commercial roof repair and replacement, but commercial roof asset management as well. We are experienced in installing and maintaining a wide variety of roof systems throughout North America and is an award winning applicator. Since we works with different systems and has applied millions of square feet of them to a variety of substrates and environments, you can be assured you're not getting a one-size-fits all recommendation.

The Role:
Responsible for inspecting roof systems to identify roof type/system, identify components, discover deficiencies, grade performance and condition. Ensures the inspection is thorough and complete. Support the National Business Unit (National Sales) in all inspections.

Commercial Roofing experience is a requirement
What You Will Be Doing

Conduct roof inspection audits and assessments utilizing our internal Tracker roof asset management program for National Business Unit (NBU) projects
Train local units in conducting inspections and review process
Provide initial inspection with local crews to set the pace for a successful inspection
Work with NBU account managers and understand needs
Work with local units and develop working partnership
What You Need for this Position

Travel extensively to conduct inspections (10%)
Ability to extend an extension ladder and properly secure per OSHA guidelines
Ability to climb an extension ladder to access facility roofs
Must have five to eight years experience in the Commercial roofing industry with familiarity with roofing materials, repairs and condition
Computer/tablet experience
Computer software experience; PDF, MS Office software
Talents and Certifications:
Good organizational and social skills
Previous Roofing Sales and Estimating/Project Management experience ideal
Professional appearance and courteous with clients, owners, tenants and fellow employees.

VIEW JOBS 1/4/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-04T00:00 Overview / Responsibilities Wood currently has an opportunity available for a Roof Observer (RO) to travel to various client sites to observe roofing construction activities for conformance with the contract documents and prepare field observation reports for the client. The RO will also be the point of contact for the roofing contractor or owner and shall meet the various project administrative needs including, but not limited to, scheduling inspections, filling out daily reports, collection of data during observations and input of information into the project database. Being able to evaluate and solve unforeseen field conditions is an essential part of the role. Key Responsibilities * Perform roof inspections to verify conformance with the contract documents * Prepare field reports and input data into the project database * General Project coordination – scheduling inspections with contractor and owners and handling of unforeseen field conditions * Learn to do warranty inspections for foam roofs * Work efficiently to meet project milestones * Perform standard administrative tasks, such as completing timesheets and expense reports as required * Perform related duties as may be necessary to support the needs of the business Skills / Qualifications * Must be a U.S. Citizen * 5-10 years of experience in the construction or roofing industry is preferred * Knowledge of various roof systems such as foam roofing systems, built-up roofs (BUR and Mod-Bit), single ply membranes (EPDM, PVC, TPO) and typical roofing details for each * Good drafting skills and field note taking * Willingness to seek a RRO certification * A commitment to Health, Safety & Environment through compliance with all policies and procedures and completion of all required training * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word and Excel * Strong organizational skills * Technical ability to look at a drawing and decipher discipline based content * Skill to perform various duties with a high degree of accuracy * Must work well with team members, have a positive customer service attitude, and possess excellent verbal communication skills * Ability to work overtime as needed to meet critical deadlines * Be willing to travel out of town 2 to 4 nights during some weeks - Typically will be out one week in field and be in the office the next week writing reports for sites visited - Travel for week is typically Monday thru Friday * Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy Company Overview Wood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
