Job Description Summary

The selected candidate will be required to work in a team environment with other co-workers and managers.

  • Ability to operate various pieces of heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, backhoes, etc.

  • Be familiar with and incorporate information derived from the manuals for the individual equipment being operated.

  • Be familiar with the equipment and Daily Equipment Checklist

  • Communicate with Project Manager/Foreperson as to the daily job specifications; operate the equipment in a safe and responsible manner.

  • Perform daily pre-start up procedures; i.e. note the service due date, check fluid levels and make sure the equipment to be used is in good running order, complete Daily Equipment Checklist

  • Discuss with supervisor the anticipated production, type of materials being moved, number of trucks, etc.

  • Be aware of other equipment working on the project and coordinate to work with the other equipment.

  • When possible, leave the equipment in a place that is readily accessible to the Equipment Mover.

  • Keep equipment clean. Wiping down equipment not only promotes positive public image, but enables the operator to inspect the equipment close range.

  • Ability to follow directions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

  • Pass a pre-employment "Fit for Work" physical.

  • Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.

  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.

  • Report to work at the designated start time.

  • Be able to work long hours when required.

  • Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

  • Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Must be able to complete safe driver training, possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

  • May be required to have or acquire a CDL as necessary

  • Be at least age 18 years of age.

Education/Experience

  • Be able to communicate appropriately with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public.

  • Be knowledgeable of materials and equipment needed to perform tasks.

  • Related experience in construction field (desired)

This position is responsible for technical and functional leadership of electrical, automation and controls systems supporting a business platform. Under limited supervision, this person will execute and support major automation and controls projects across the platform consistent with the strategic direction. This role serves as a key subject matter expert and resource for manufacturing and business leadership. Furthermore, this role ensures that the engineering team, in partnership with IT, efficiently delivers quality electrical and Operational Technology support throughout the lifecycle of the systems to enable strategic business goals. What we need from you: * Lead implementation of major corporate automation and control projects. * Develop and implement a project plan and schedule for automation projects or as a project team member supporting automation aspects of project execution. * Supports the team with development and execution of project scope, costs, and schedule (from concept through vertical start-up). * Ensures that projects meet operating expectations and are completed within authorized budgets and schedule constraints. * Drives technical solutions by evaluating and recommending new technologies as well as reduce/eliminate issues associated with equipment, performance, quality and safety. * Supports the development of the long-range capital plan and manage obsolescence the business unit and GSC. * Collaborate with project teams, and internal/external technical resources to assess opportunities for application of innovative designs, performance improvements, technical advantages, speed to market and capital efficiencies ensuring optimum business value is achieved during capital project activity. * Partners with key stakeholders and provides technical leadership, direction, and subject matter expertise to Information Technology (IT), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Supply Chain Quality, Marketing, and other key leadership teams. * Responsible for the industry competitive analysis which guides the development of electrical and controls technology strategies that deliver enhanced supply chain capabilities. * Coaches and mentors engineers, and other members of the technical community in Schwan's to build technical capability and leadership behaviors consistent with our stated goal. * Responsible to conduct yourself in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.
