This position is a 0.60 FTE.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of accredited speech language therapy program with master's degree or equivalent.

  • Valid Washington ESA certificate in Speech Language Therapy.

  • Prefer training and/or experience in assessment, IEP development, intervention planning.

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (preferred).

  • Candidate should have a sound understanding of regulations governing special education.

  • Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

To provide, under the general supervision of the Director of Special Services and according to all special education law and regulation, diagnostic evaluations and therapy, to students ages 3-21; to function as a member of all special education teams; to help students reach maximum performance level, and to use these skills to the fullest to function in the community within the limits of their capabilities.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administers evaluations, writes reports, and develops IEP's on students referred and identified for special education services.

  • Completes all required paperwork within required timelines as provided by regulations.

  • Maintains timely and accurate student records, data, and reports.

  • Communicates effectively with parents and staff.

  • Participates as a collaborative team member in IEP and eligibility teams meetings.

  • Provides consultation to parents and school staff regarding augmentative communication devices and assists students in the use of augmentative communication devices.

  • Designs and administers treatment programs to increase students' levels of functioning.

  • Provides therapy for autism spectrum disorders and stuttering.

  • Assists with prevocational programming for students age 14-21.

  • Keeps abreast of research and new techniques.

  • Attends appropriate professional and educational meetings

  • Supervise educational assistants as needed.

  • Perform other related duties as required
