Job Description:

As we move towards our ZERO ZERO ZERO vision for the future, we are looking to add hardworking individuals to our Active Safety Robustness Validation team! On this team, we contribute to that vision by ensuring Active Safety Features are performing as intended for the customer. We analyze thousands of miles of data looking for anomalies that a customer may experience and then work with the Development and Safety teams to implement changes in software and hardware.

As a Robustness Project Manager you will ensure we have clear testing requirements and the resources available to enable testing. You will be directly accountable for Vehicle scheduling, Test requirements, timing, and status. Your organized and structured deliverables will enable the team to execute robustness testing in an efficient and effective manner. Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop Plans and Schedules; Which programs to test and when

  • Develop Criteria and Requirements; System Safety Requirements for DVUL approvals

  • Report ADV Status; Validation Scorecard testing and issue status.

  • Coordinate/train validation activities with foreign partners in other regions;

  • Work with local external partners where necessary to execute testing.

  • Build and Lead Vehicle plans; Develop vehicle resource needs and budget to support necessary testing

  • Review Program Results; Communicate status results and push through roadblocks to keep testing on time.

  • Frequent contact with team members and customers outside of work group to support test development, execution, and issue resolutions

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Engineering or Computer Science
  • 2+ years of Project Management
  • 5+ years of Validation or testing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Validation Scorecard

  • Experience with CG1801, GVBR, CG3660, PVCL

  • 1 year experience with Pre-production vehicle build process (PPO)

  • 2+ years of Active Safety specific testing or planning

  • Strong technical capability and a creative attitude help develop original solution

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal direction

Primary focus on ensuring controller and vehicle system safety is thoroughly validated end-to-end (from supplier, through vehicle, and to the end customer). Provides design evaluation, analysis, and testing of projects where creativity and a high level of independent judgment are involved. Provides technical leadership and guidance to other engineering teams or engineering support staff. * Work within a team to coordinate validation efforts for system safety aspects of multiple chassis features. * Work with system safety engineers to create VCRI to map safety requirements to appropriate validation area. * Create, manage and execute test procedures for safety requirements to satisfy appropriate failsafe actions per the assigned ASIL safety level of the feature or function. * Develop test methods and models to be able to test safety critical components and features * Develop Models to run on a stand-alone test box (MicroAutoBox) to intercept, alter and deliver messages to various modules on the vehicle. * Perform system safety testing on safety critical features on electrical system benches and or vehicles. Capture, analyze and plot data to provide results against the test cases. * Provide technical support to ECU suppliers on GM test procedures. * Act as single point contact to the systems safety integration teams and release community. * Coordinate system safety testing on vehicles at our test tracks to correlate data and efficiently manage resource workload. * Write ESIMs, and PRTS+ for issues found during the results review. Ensure proper closure of issues. * Travel (minimal) as required. Additional Job Description Basic Required: * Have a valid US driver's license; this position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis. * B.S. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering * High level of oral and written communication skills. * High level of organizational skills - able to manage multiple projects across multiple programs to the assigned milestone. * Able to work within a team of engineers and communicate issues and testing results effectively. * Ability to act as a single voice for bench and vehicle level testing for assigned subsystems * Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms. * Knowledge of CAN, VIP, LIN, UDS (GMW3110, 8772, & 14241) based communication. * High-level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex. * Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals. * Knowledge of safety critical software and systems in job-related area. * 3 years or more of experience in job-related area.
