Robotics Engineer

Description:

Our customer located in Whitmore Lake, MI, is an automated equipment manufacturer who supplies directly to General Motors. Their equipment is primarily used to assemble powertrain equipment, and they are looking to add up to 1-2 additional robotics professionals to their team. Travel will be limited, less than 30% for these candidates and they must have prior experience working closely with FANUC robots.

A day in the life would look like:

• Make repairs to robots or peripheral equipment, such as replacement of defective circuit boards, sensors, controllers, encoders, or servomotors.

• Troubleshoot robotic systems, using knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor or feedback systems, hydraulics, or pneumatics.

• Install, program, or repair programmable controllers, robot controllers, end-of-arm tools, or conveyors.

• Integrate and Test vision application specific to Fanuc (IR Vision)

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must Haves:

• 5+ years' experience working with FANUC robots- Programming, Troubleshooting and Debugging along with understanding Teach Points

• Experience working in automation industry w/ Automotive or powertrain specific application

• Ability to travel Local and Nationally up to 30%: Toledo, New York, Flint, Kentucky will be some of the main places for up to 1-2 weeks at a time

Would be nice:

• Experience with Fanuc IR vision or other Vision application experience

• Robot Simulation: Roboguide to do reach studies and calculate cycle times

• Prior PLC experience- Siemens or Allen Bradley

• Experience installing FANUC Robots

• Experience supplying automation equipment to Powertrain OEMs
