BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 company, has a new opportunity for a Robotic Programmer / Engineering Technologist. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert for our automated welding technology. This is a new position at our York, Pennsylvania manufacturing facility responsible for monitoring a robotic system, with the ability to improve processes. We prefer someone with welding knowledge, but we are willing to train the right person.
Execution of new and modification of existing off-line programming using CAD based software for multiple applications in heavy welding aluminum and steel applications.
Implementation of online programming including process development of various processes such as steel and aluminum GMAW, GMAW-P, mechanical tools, etc
Execution, troubleshooting and modification of offline and online laser seam finding.
Hands-on verification, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the robotic equipment to ensure weld. quality meets or exceeds weld code compliance and production meets or exceeds schedule.
Interface with robotic integrator and any other supplier of parts on the robotic system to troubleshoot issues.
Teaching/training of technicians and or automation engineers offline and online programming, seam finding technique, etc.
Support purchase of new or modifications to existing robotic systems.
Recommendation and implementation of robotic system enhancements.
Team with production support and shop floor employees to ensure product is meeting or exceeding schedule.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by manager.
