The Road Technician performs service and repairs on material handling and/or aerial equipment at customer sites to ensure that equipment continues to run according to manufacturer's specifications.

1.Diagnose and repair equipment, to include liquid propane, gas, and diesel engines, electric motors, transmissions, drive axles, differentials, hydraulic systems, brake systems, steering systems, electrical systems, lifting systems, etc.
2.Rebuild and/or repair all components and systems in industrial material handling and aerial equipment and other related equipment
3.Properly block, chock and chain equipment, and disassemble equipment as needed to facilitate major component removal and repair
4.Perform routine and operational maintenance to ensure that equipment continues to run according to manufacturer's specifications
5.Perform diagnostic troubleshooting and failure analysis on all components and systems
6.Perform equipment inspections to identify potential problems and safety concerns
7.Perform basic welding as necessary
8.Record maintenance and repair work performed by completing necessary paperwork in a timely manner
9.Complete basic and advanced technical training as assigned
10. Maintain parts and supplies needed for job completion
11. Maintain company vehicle cleanliness and ensure vehicle is in safe operating condition; complete vehicle checklist as required
12. Maintain a culture of safety & participate in all safety meetings
13. Perform other related duties as assigned.


Basic Knowledge & Competencies:

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Thorough knowledge of all equipment & operations that apply to the branch

  • Excellent mechanical aptitude, technical knowledge and problem solving skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Previous Experience/Education:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required

  • Mechanical or trade school certificate preferred

  • 3+ years' experience in forklift repair or related industry

  • Ability to read precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, etc.

  • Welding and/or fabrication skills and/or experience preferred

  • Valid driver's license required


  • Standing, walking, lifting, twisting and bending on a frequent basis

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

  • Must furnish own tools

  • Availability to work 24/7 on-call schedule as needed

  • 100% travel to customer sites

VIEW JOBS 3/18/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-16T00:00 Supervising Engineer, Civil Road & Highway Design – Tampa, Florida Opportunity : Parsons has an exciting and challenging new role for a Supervising Engineer for our Civil Road & Highway Design group in Tampa, Florida. The Primary role will be to prepare and lead design and production staff in the development of roadway design. plans preparation, and related deliverables using FDOT projects utilizing Microstation, Geopak and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) standards and specifications. In this role you will supervise a group of five or more Engineers and design personnel, usually in our civil roadway design practice, by directing technical engineering assignments and coordinating project staffing assignments. Education and experience over several years must be sufficient in order for the incumbent to serve as a Supervising Engineer on a large project or several smaller projects. Responsibilities : * Will manage, oversee, and lead the design engineering practice to support various FDOT ( Florida DOT) projects throughout the state. * Reviews work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed and quality is acceptable. Monitors productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel. Makes staffing assignments and reassignments as project needs arise. * Conducts performance evaluations, takes corrective action as necessary, recommends promotions and salary actions, and recommends training and development for assigned personnel. * Helps to define scope of work, design criteria, schedule, standards, and procedures for project assignments. Determines budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. * Provides technical direction, making decisions and/or obtaining additional technical staff assistance as the situation warrants. This may include obtaining the services of consultants. Promotes technical excellence on the project, including furthering the Quality Improvement Process. * Ensures that adequate checking is performed in accordance with discipline checking policy and procedures. * Ensures that discipline design work is coordinated with project staff and Engineers from other disciplines by maintaining clear and frequent communications. * Advises engineering and project management regarding any problem areas, staffing requirements, delays in production, scope changes, or other events which could effect project completion and/or profitability. Initiates and/or reviews change order requests for additions, deletions, or changes to the original scope of work. Recommends design methods, equipment use, etc., for discipline standards. Supervises the production of project drawings and design calculations. Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies. Recommends and prepares technical papers. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Qualifications: * 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) is required. * 12-15 years of related work experience with civil road & highway design * Professional Engineer ( PE) registration is required * Proven ability to perform in a lead capacity * Excellent written and oral communications skills * Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required * Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project * Proficient experience and knowledge of Microstation Geopak is essential Ready for action?
