Job Description: Central Carolina Hospital
Provides directand indirect patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment,planning, implementation and evaluation. Meets the physical, psychosocial,religious/cultural and needs of the patient and family. Communicateseffectively with all members of the health care team as appropriate aboutchanges in the patient's condition or response to treatment. Basic PC skills.Able to work on smoke-free campus. Able to be flexible, organized and functionunder stressful situations.
Performsduties as assigned and requested.
Completes a focused patient assessment withreassessments
based on patients condition, procedures, medicationsgiven and treatments.
Adequately assesses and reassesses pain. Utilizesappropriate pain
Performs patient care and communicates effectivelywith patients of all ages and specific needs.
Demonstrates knowledge of medications and theircorrect administration based on the age of the patient and the patient'sclinical condition. Follows the 6 rightsof medication administration to reduce the potential for medication errors.
Assists physicians with procedures and performsservices requiring
technical and manual skills.
Performs treatments and provides services to thelevel of licensure.
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environmentthat optimizes
patient safety and reduces the likelihood of errors.
Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly.
Educates patient and family on disease process.
Require Required Education:
Associate's degree is required
Bachelor's degree is preferred
Registered Nurse in North Carolina is required (or compact state)
American Heart Association BLS is required
Additional certifications are required by department
1 year of experience in a health care setting is preferred
