Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse-PHI Float provides clinical nursing care to assigned patients, performing related assessments, procedures and treatments, evaluations, patient care plan development/revisions, and education to patient and/or family. The RN-Float puts the patient first and ensures that high quality care is given to assigned patients by following policies, clinical guidelines, safety systems such as medication scanning and bed alarm use, timely and accurate documentation, core measure compliance and serving as a patient advocate. The RN-Float makes providing an exceptional patient/family experience high priority.

The Float Registered Nurse will be trained in one of the following Tier Line: CCU and/or Cardiovascular Care Unit (CCU); CVAR across campuses; Cath Labs across campuses.

Critical care RN competencies are required and will primarily float between these areas. Once solid competency and performance is established in one of these areas, Pulse System Float Nurses are expected to expand their competencies in other departments as needed, through ongoing training determined by the Manager of the Pulse System Float Pool. Specialty Trained Pulse System Float Pool Nurses in Critical care may be put into dual competencies such as Cardiovascular Admit/Recovery and Procedure areas (Cath Labs).

For tier definitions, CCU is defined as the level of inpatient care not a location

GSH CCU is a combined CCU/CVICU level of care.

Tier 1

CCU all PHI Business Inpatient units

Cath Lab at all PHI Business sites

CVAR at all PHI business sites

Minimum Requirements:

Two (2) years of experience

Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred

RN licensure issued by Washington State to practice professional nursing

CPR and ACLS required at time of hire

Valid drivers license

Learn more at www.multicarejobs.org Position Summary: The Patient Care Technician Assistant (PCTA) is a certified team member working under the direction of a Registered Nurse to provide quality care that is focused on the comfort and wellbeing of the patient and family within all inpatient, procedural, and ambulatory Pulse Institute areas. Functions include, but are not limited to, basic patient care activities, secretarial duties that support admit, discharge, and patient charges, as well as customer service oriented delivery of care to patients. This position requires a service-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills for the purpose of supporting the delivery of care and services to patients from diverse ethnic and social groups. Independent decision-making is expected in the execution of daily routine duties. Decisions regarding patient care or services require the review and approval of the Registered Nurse. Internal contact may include patient care, Laboratory, and Pharmacy staff and management. External contacts include physicians, patients, families, and visitors. Minimum Requirements: Previous patient care experience preferred Previous Health Unit Coordinator experience preferred Education/Licenses/Certifications: Nursing Assistant Certification/Licensure Medical Assistant-Registered Certification Eligible MA-P credential may be accepted in lieu of MA-R.
