    ence * Required: Minimum five (5) years experience in acute clinical setting. Minimum two (2) years in infection control in a health care setting. * Essential Responsibilities * Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations. * Assists in investigating and reporting hospital-acquired infections. * Promotes system wide participation in the infection control program. * Acts as a resource for infection control questions from physicians and hospital staffs. * Collect, analyze and report infection control information and results throughout medical staff and hospital committee structures. * Assist with other Quality Improvement processes and Risk Management issues. * Coordinates Quality Improvement studies as directed. * Assists to prepare and maintain policies and procedures related to Infection Control, which insure hospitals compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies. * Presents orientation and in-service programs for hospital staff. * Serves as member of hospital committees as assigned: Safety Committee, Infection Prevention, Education Committee, P&T Committee, Valve Analysis and others as needed. * Serves as a resource to other EMC entities for infection control and related issues. * Administer immunizations to staff and/or patients, as needed. * Support the Magnet culture by coordinating nursing quality programs related to hand hygiene and other pertinent infection prevention practices. * In collaboration with Medical Director of Infectious Disease and Epidemiologist drafts the annual Infection Control Plan and Report to be approved at the Infection Control Committee. * Performs other duties as assigned.

Provides day-to-day consistency and accountability within the OR by planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the daily activities involved in the effective and efficient management of the OR schedule and patient flow for the weekend shifts. * Reports to * Director of Surgical Services * Supervises * RNs, Surgical Technologists, OR Aides * Ages of Patients * Pediatric * Adolescent * Adult * Geriatric * Blood Borne Pathogens * High Potential * Qualifications * Education * Required: BSN or MSN or enrollment in an RN-BSN or RN-MSN program within 1 year of hire and completion within 5 years of hire if hired after July 1, 2012 * Licensure/Certification * Required: California RN license; American Heart Association BLS * Preferred: CNOR, ACLS, PALS * Experience * Required:Minimum five years experience as an operating room clinical practitioner. * Preferred: Minimum one year of supervisory experience. * Essential Responsibilities * Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations. * Develops a proactive advance schedule review process, in coordination with scheduling. * Develops and implements action plans to improve staff development. Plans one, three, and seven days in advance to predetermine potential gaps in the schedule. * Plans daily staffing assignments, coordinates all break and lunch relief, and manages overall intraoperative program coordination. * Assures that the control desk is the communications link and central source of timely and accurate patient, room, and case status information. * Collaborates with the anesthesiology chief/chair/designee and clerical support to ensure that the schedule runs efficiently in accordance with policies and procedures * Makes room assignments in collaboration with the service group supervisors. * Rounds in all assigned ORs to obtain completion time estimates. Communicates delays and anticipated schedule changes to individual ORs and respective perioperative personnel. * Rounds preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative areas to facilitate the schedule and troubleshoot problems * Manages Main OR, Pre-op, PACU for the span of the shift. Provides over site for CSP department. Maintains close communication with all areas of responsibility for the duration of the shift. * Maintains close contact with surgeons and anesthesiologists and facilitates sequencing of caseload * Ensures department and staff productivity is optimized. * Oversees operating room schedule time compliance and controls the turnover time process through oversight, management, and use of case time and case turnover reports, in coordination with the service group supervisors. * Manages the schedule with emphasis on the urgent/emergent cases and the judicious use of on-call staff * Evaluates the prior day's schedule to make recommendations to improve operational efficiencies * Audits surgical procedures and develops, in conjunction with anesthesiology/specialty nursing teams, strategies to ensure procedure case duration accuracy, first case on-time starts, and minimal room turnover times * Participates in the development of scheduling policies and procedures and schedule preparation * Participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records, and upgrading of policies, procedures, and skills of personnel * Assists the director and service group supervisors in developing service group and service line program protocols * Oversees new staff orientation in collaboration with the perioperative educator * Manages and controls expenditures within established budgets * Ensures that safe, high-quality patient care is provided and is in compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and professional standards (AORN, Joint Commission), and in accordance and infection-control policies and guidelines * Investigates and resolves patient/family member concerns regarding patient care * Provides direct patient care * Participates in hospital safety programs. * Supports and enforces infection-control policies and procedures. * Promotes patient and patient family satisfaction.
