Provides evaluation of assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Provides assistance to nursing peers as requested.

Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the nursing field.

Graduate of a nursing program is required. Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Must demonstrate ability to interpret basic EKG strips as evidenced by 80% or greater pass rate on initial exam or successful competency within six (6) weeks of hire date. Prior critical care or intensive care experience is preferred. Current Mississippi RN licensure is required. BLS is required; ACLS certification is required (or within 90 days of hire into the position). PALS and CPI certification is strongly preferred.

VIEW JOBS 5/22/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-08-20T00:00 The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for the administration of pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care procedures necessary to implement treatment, disease prevention, pulmonary rehabilitative, or diagnostic regimes prescribed by physicians. Duties include the transcription and implementation of the written or verbal orders of a physician pertaining to the practice of Respiratory Care, proper assessment, observation and monitoring of signs and symptoms, general behavior, and general physical response to Respiratory Care treatments and diagnostic testing. The Certified Respiratory Therapist will recommend and initiate appropriate respiratory care procedures and protocols based on observed abnormalities, implement changes in treatment pursuant to the written or verbal orders of a physician. The Certified Respiratory Therapist must have the ability to assess and initiate emergency procedures. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care deliver to achieve desired outcomes. Associates degree in Respiratory Care is required. One (1) year of acute Respiratory Therapy Services is preferred. Current Mississippi Respiratory Care licensure is required. Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential is required. BLS certification is required (or within 30 days of hire into the department). ACLS certification is strongly preferred. PALS and NRP certifications are preferred.
