Job Summary:
Provides professional nursing care for clinic/office patient within the scope of regulations outlined in the New Mexico Nurse Practice Act.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Obtain and document patient vital signs.
Perform testing such as oximetry, glucometry, urinalysis and other tests when requested per practitioner.
Educate patient as directed.
Perform clerical duties as needed.
Administer medications and/or injections, prescribed procedures with instruction to patient.
Maintain patient care areas.
Monitor pharmacy area.

AGE-RELATED COMPETENCIES: Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.
Information Management: Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.
Risk Management/Quality Management/Safety: Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education - graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Work Experience - at least one year experience providing direct patient care, physician clinic setting preferred.
Training
ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
