Mountain Youth Academy (a UHS company) is seeking REGISTERED NURSE(S) for all shifts to join our growing team! Come make a difference in the life of a child and love what you do!!

Mountain Youth Academy is centrally located near Johnson City, TN, Boone, NC, and Abingdon, VA. We are a 90-bed residential treatment facility and assist in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health issues for our young adolescent students.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (include, but are not limited to, the following)

• Serves as a role model to staff and students in dress and demeanor.

• Performs proper TCI techniques, demonstrating knowledge of student and staff safety. Completes debriefings as indicated.

• Renders professional nursing care to students within the treatment programs. Practices ongoing student assessment, evaluation and update of student care through observation of physical and behavioral symptoms and communicates pertinent data to other service areas as needed. Administers medications appropriately and documents all data accurately according to facility policy. Participates in formulation of individual care plans for all students and implements plan according to facility policy.

This full-time opportunity in the Mountain Youth Academy nursing department offers 36 hours per week, full benefits, and weekend/day shift opportunities.

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program.

SERVICE STANDARDS/PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT FUNCTION:

• Promotes the philosophy, goals and objectives of the facility by becoming familiar with and complying with facility and departmental policies and procedures.

• Maintains licenses and certifications required for the position.

• Attends mandatory training annually to maintain competency.
