St. Catherine of Siena Nursing and Rehabilitation and St. Catherine of Siena Hospital are proud members of Catholic Health and have served the residents of the Smithtown area for more than 50 years. St. Catherine's is located on the north shore of Long Island in Smithtown. The campus is comprised of a 240-bed nursing and rehabilitation care center; 296-bed not-for-profit community hospital and a 60,000 square foot medical office building. Job Details

ROLE:

Formulates, develops, and coordinates safety of the organization. Designs and directs a program to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure hazards through safety-training of supervisors and managers, planned inspections, skill training, emergency preparedness, physical protections, rules and practices, job analysis/procedures, disposal procedures, and protective equipment. Maintains compliance with governmental regulatory agencies. Responsible for identifying causes of past accidents.

Responsibilities:

  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care of residents within the skilled nursing setting.

  • Responsible for ensuring continuity of care of the residents between shifts by providing direct care as well as supervising the care given by CNAs, LPNs/LVNs and supportive staff members.

  • Participates in resident and family teaching.

  • Maintains role as resident advocate with a focus on the facility's mission.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed in the State of New York as a Registered Professional Nurse.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability in nursing practice in a Residential Health Care Facility for a minimum of three years preferred.

Salary Range

USD $54.07 - USD $60.82 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
