The Cherry Creek North Ambulatory Surgery Center is a 4-OR and 2-procedure room multi-specialty unit including, but not limited to, General, Otolaryngology, Urology, Breast Surgery, GI, Plastics, Occuplastics, Ortho, GYN/Oncology, Pain, Cardiology, and Vascular procedures. It is a state of the art building in the heart of Cherry Creek that provides convenient access and exceptional customer services for patients living in the area. The Cherry Creek North Ambulatory Surgery Center's procedural hours are Monday-Friday from 0700-1700.

We are looking for candidates who have the experience and knowledge in caring for patients in a multi-specialty environment who are highly motivated and engaged to contribute to our perioperative vision of culture of excellence. Candidates need to be flexible to float to other UCHealth facilities as needed.

Responsibilities:

Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.

Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

  • Basic Life Support

  • Registered Nurse

Advanced Cardiac Life Support

  • Other information:

Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.

Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant life support certification as determined at position level.

Minimum Experience: 6 months nursing experience.

  • BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR and ACLS card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)

How it works: Our Triage team answers the calls that are after hours and assess the needs of the patient; if there is a need they will send the After Hours Nurse out. The After Hours team offers as needed and emergent support to our hospice patients after-hours (evenings, nights, and weekends). This position really allows the nurse to have that one-on-one direct care to a patient and really allows the nurse to just focus on that one patient that they are there to see. The After Hours Nurse provides comfort-focused nursing care, interventions, and education with appropriate documentation through assigned PRN visits for patients where they reside including private homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and hospitals. The After Hours Nurse also may provide assistance with patient admissions and assessments. The registered nurse plans, organizes and directs hospice care and is experienced in nursing, with emphasis on community health education/experience. The professional nurse builds from the resources of the community to plan and direct services to meet the needs of individual and families within their homes and communities.
