Job Description:
The Trauma Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of John Muir Medical Center and Trauma Services and is a member of the trauma resuscitation team as required by the American College of Surgeons. In collaboration with the patient, the patient's family and other members of the health care team, the trauma nurse leader assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and coordinates treatment plans. The trauma nurse leader demonstrates strong trauma clinical assessment, nursing intervention, and strong communication/leadership skills. Provides trauma program support in addition to clinical responsibilities.
Education:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing Required
Bachelor's Degree Nursing
Experience:
1 year Trauma experience Required

Skills:
In-depth knowledge of resuscitation and care of critically injured patients.
Expertise in area of trauma nursing practice
Proficient in continuous bedside monitoring and telemetry, vasoactive medications, hemodynamic monitoring and pressure lines
Ability to maintain accurate records using Epic's Trauma Narrator
Ability to show initiative, work effectively and collaboratively with hospital staff
Flexible, well organized, and self-directed
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
Works well in team atmosphere
Work Shift:
12.0 - 07:00 - 20:00 No Waive (United States of America)
Pay Range:
$74.66 - $101.72

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word 'exempt' on it.
