Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with the individual needs patients and their families, standards of nursing practice, relevant statutes and regulations, hospital policy and physician prescribed treatment plan.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.

  • Current basic life support (BLS) certification

  • Current advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).

  • Minimum of one year Acute Care RN experience.

  • Completion of a Telemetry class preferred

  • Completion of EKG interpretation class preferred

  • Successful completion of a medication examination and satisfactory completion of department/unit specific orientation.

Position Summary Virgin Orbit is looking for a Senior Telemetry Software Engineer to oversee operations of the world-wide telemetry ground station network during rocket launch campaigns. During a mission, you will be a mission control operator reporting to the Launch Director. When you're not on-console, you'll be developing and innovating on our ground station architecture and software, identifying ways to integrate new technologies into the ground stations, coordinating with worldwide telemetry partners, and improving on how Virgin Orbit conducts telemetry operations. This is a full-time position based in Long Beach, CA that can be worked remotely part-time as a hybrid schedule (2-3 days in office / remote). Your Mission * Develop and maintain software tools used to process Telemetry data and control a global network of RF Antenna used for live rocket vehicle monitoring * Develop HITL test plans for Verification and Validation of these software tools * Support telemetry network tests to ensure high-quality data flow to the Mission Control Center * Analyze ground station performance: RF link, data quality, antenna tracking performance, receiver performance, etc. * Create and execute anomaly resolution plans * Conduct trade studies for new technologies to improve our ground station system architecture * Write and present mission/launch readiness reviews and data reviews What you bring If you want to join us, you'd better have all of these… * BS in STEM with 4+ years of experience in a Software Engineering role; or equivalent work experience in a similar role * Familiarity with network engineering concepts and technologies such as Wireshark, TCP/IP, and UDP * Familiarity with a Linux operating system and Bash scripting; Debian preferred * Software development experience including modern C++ and/ or Python as well as version control using Git * Familiarity with GNURadio or other SDR platforms * Understanding of signal processing - Nyquist, sampling rates, data decimation * Demonstrated capability to manage complex projects with strict deadlines * Ability to communicate and work with others - you will be a part of Mission Control and an integrated team * Must be able to provide proof of US-approved Covid-19 full vaccination status, unless otherwise exempted by an approved reasonable medical or religious accommodation from Virgin Orbit. … and you should probably have a bunch of these, too. * Deep understanding of telemetry systems: RF theory, PCM, SOQPSK, IRIG 106 Ch 4 * Experience with RF receivers such as Lumistar, Cortex, Quasonix * Experience in an operations-oriented engineering field (e.g. Test and Evaluation, Launch Operations) * Familiarity with autotracking and slave-tracking telemetry technologies * Familiarity with LabVIEW * Familiarity with JavaScript * Familiarity with MQTT * Knowledge of IRIG 106 Ch 10 data recording standard ITAR Requirements To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
