RN Surgical First Assist

Job Description

This is a full time RN- First Assist position working days in our OR department at Houghton Hospital.

$15,000 Sign-on bonus offered to eligible RN's!

This is a full time position working a day shift in the main Operating Room at Northwest Houghton Hospital

Our Northwest Houghton Hospital features 4 OR's providing general surgery services and well as orthopedic , podiatry, and Endoscopy / GI services. Evaluates perioperative patients and plans, implements and documents surgical nursing care.

Performs surgical procedures under supervision of a surgeon. Functions in a scrub and circulating nurse role. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

Requires an associate's degree, certification as a registered nurse first assistant (CRNFA), certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR), and at least 2 years of operating room experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements

Education

Required: Associates or Diploma in nursing program

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing

Experience:

Clinical experience in area of expertise preferred for PRN 2 years in PACU required

Licenses/Certifications

Required: Current Arizona RN license or compact state license

Certification as a registered nurse first assistant (CRNFA), certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR), and at least 2 years of operating room experience

American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) BLS , ACLS & PALS
