4H is a 22-bed unit that cares for a variety of medical and surgical patients, specializing in digestive diseases. Our patient population is an even mix of medical and surgical cases, where you will see colorectal and bariatric surgical patients as well as bowel obstruction, kidney failure, cellulitis, and falls. We are an accredited bariatric surgery center that focuses on continuous quality improvement for our patients. We have a dedicated team that is committed to providing a high level of care to help enhance our patients and families' lives.

Scope of Work

Assumes shift accountability for managing, supervising, and coordinating the operational and financial effectiveness and efficiency of the nursing service/ unit of the hospital. Some service lines may require the ability to be available for on-call to better support the nursing service/unit. Additionally, Inpatient Supervisors may be required to fill-in for the hospital supervisor as needed. Key responsibilities include assisting with the following: clinical support, unit-based goal setting, program development, fiscal management, resource allocation, standards of care, policy and procedure development and interpretation, performance improvement, performance correction, and coaching and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in nursing Required.

• Master's Degree in nursing Preferred.

• The skills, knowledge, abilities typically gained through 1+ year of related clinical experience in area of specialty Required.

• MI Registered Nurse license Required.

• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.

• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required.

• Corewell Health Nurse Supervisors are REQUIRED to obtain their Nursing Administration or Professional/Specialty Certification within 12 months of assuming the role, or within 12 months of achieving eligibility to sit for the exam if not eligible upon hire in to the role.
