PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Staff Development, Employee Health RN facilitates and oversees the facility staff education program including planning, implementing, directing, and evaluating the education program based on identified resident/staff needs, Federal, State, and Local regulations. Also, maintains the confidential health records or all employees to include physicals, immunization status and TB screening.

DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY:

Reports to the Director of Nursing.

Plans, implements, directs, and evaluates the facility education program based on identified resident, staff, and family needs and federal, state, and local regulations

Develops and implements orientation for new employees and provides resources for in-service education to all areas as needed

Interprets and implements established facility policies, procedures, and regulations for all facility personnel

Plans, schedules, and posts a monthly calendar of education programs in a timely manner

Prepares lesson plans containing objectives, curse content, and evaluation for each class scheduled and completed

Observes and/or teaches facility safety rules to all personnel

Observes and/or teaches the facility's Resident's Rights policies and procedures to all personnel

Ensure all new staff receive required 8 hours of Dementia training prior to the completion of orientation

Maintains current education records of classes conducted and attendance of all staff

Provide each employee with a notice of education hours and mandatory in-services attended/missed by July 10th annually

Prepare a year end education reports

QAPI performance improvement teams as directed by Director of Nursing

Runs in-house NA training course and maintains class records

Maintains log of CNA, LPN, RN, and CPR expiration dates

Maintains confidential health records for all employees

Conducts annual TB screening for employees

Ensures receipt of pre-employment physicals and biannual employee physicals

Maintains Hepatitis B immunization records, including declinations

Assist Director of Nursing in annual employee influenza vaccine program

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing

  • Current Massachusetts Nursing License

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

  • BLS

EXPERIENCE

  • One year of management experience required
