Supporting Hires In Nursing Excellence
Do you want to be a part of the most progressive new graduate RN residency program in the state? MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, Maine, offers you the opportunity to grow your practice in nursing by way of residency programs built to expand your knowledge and practical clinical skills. All of our RN residencies consist of clinical training, classroom, and on line learning to strengthen all areas of your practice.
The SHINE Residencies begin with a 12-week comprehensive med/surg orientation. At the end of the first 12 weeks, the residencies take different clinical tracks, but the group remains together for one year with monthly classes in professional growth taught by our professional development educator.
MaineGeneral is the third largest health system in Maine offering a variety of services and employment opportunities. Our state-of-the-art regional hospital opened in November 2013.
We also renovated our Thayer Center for Health in Waterville into a comprehensive outpatient center. It's an exciting time to be part of the MaineGeneral team!
MaineGeneral is a patient- and family- centered system. We strive to give our very best care and service to every patient, family, and each other.
Patients and family members are at the heart of every decision we make. In fact, we involve them in decisions that affect their care and experience with us.
"Culture of Excellence" is more than just a phrase at MaineGeneral. It's the way we do things here.
We round on patients every hour to make sure they are comfortable. We live and work by a set of RESPECT Values & Standards. We make sure patients and families know why we do things. We smile and say hello to each other in the halls.
MaineGeneral is a great place to work. We hope you'll join us.
All of our residency programs are registered apprenticeship programs through the Maine Department of Labor
A recent SHINE resident had this to say about our ED Residency:
"Everyone truly cared about my success. The preceptorship was excellent!
Although I felt adequately prepared as a novice nurse, I developed so many new skills and was able to better manage my time. My sincere thanks to the SHINE Program."
