Job Description:

Experience with Sepsis identification processes and working within a multidisciplinary team to increase clinicians knowledge of the most recent sepsis core measure requirement and decrease mortality. Review sepsis charts daily and communicate best practices and/or opportunities for improvement with nursing and physician leaders.

Experience

Experience with Sepsis identification processes and working within a multidisciplinary team or performance improvement team is required. 2 to 3 years of acute care experience to include 1 year of quality performance improvement experience.

Preferred: 5 years clinical experience in a sepsis management program to include 3 years of quality performance improvement experience.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Bachelors Degree in Nursing; Masters in Nursing preferred

Training

Must have continuous education in Sepsis Must have 16 hours in specialized sepsis education Working knowledge of current evidence based sepsis processes.

Certification

Must have current CPR for Health Care providers BLS for HCP ; Certified in Professional Specialty preferred

VIEW JOBS 4/1/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-30T00:00 Job Description Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is looking for a full time RN Grad Fellow to provide care to a diverse medical surgical population. Services of the Medical-Surgical/Orthopedic and Pediatric Unit include the pre and post-operative care of the surgical patient and the stabilization of medical patients. Our patient population is admitted from the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), the emergency department, other healthcare facilities, physician's offices and other nursing units from within this facility. The majority of our patient population includes adult and geriatric individuals who are acutely ill, recovering from surgery or injury or after a therapeutic procedure. Patients with a stable cardiac history requiring telemetry monitoring for a 24 hour period, are also admitted to this unit. Care is also provided to pediatric patients, age 15 and older recovering from surgery. The Inova RN provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team. Consistently provides safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way. Incorporates differences into the provision of care. Conducts all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner. Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, to include patient and family education. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others. Has respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines. Uses an integrated approach toward patient outcomes. Serves as an empowering body to influence patient empowerment, and successful outcomes of financial and clinical quality, through relationships and access-based knowledge. Utilizes standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery. Determines process for delivery of care from direct patient and family communication, technology, and other healthcare team member collaboration. Requirements A maximum of 6 months of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting. This position is strictly for New Graduate nurses. Education: BSN or MSN or If Associates Degree RN - Within 6 months of start date meet with nurse leader and: • Identify which Accredited School the employee plans to attend • Submit a review of transcript from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses • Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date Complete BSN within 24 months of start date BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required. RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN. Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills.
