Job Summary:
Applies general accounting principles including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers, and account and bank reconciliations. Assists with monthly closings and account analysis.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
Associate's/Technical Degree in accounting or finance or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
Three years' accounting experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
Maintains records and reconciles assigned statistics and general ledger accounts to include, as appropriate, invoicing customers, paying vendors, recording and posting journal entries, reconciling balances, analyzing details and reporting balances monthly.
Prepares and maintains documentation and support for audits, budget, cost report, surveys and other requests as assigned.
Reviews, prepares and maintains journal entries, reconciliations and analysis on a monthly basis, for accuracy and compliance with established accounting procedures and policies.
Analyzes revenue and expenditure trends and recommends appropriate budget levels, and ensures expenditure control.
Recommends, develops and maintains financial databases, computer software systems and manual filing systems.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
