The Program Manager-Clinical Risk (Manager) serves as the clinical loss prevention/risk management professional at his/her assigned facility/facilities and assists the Director of Risk Management in the overall operations of the Region's clinical loss prevention/risk management activities. The Manager develops, implements and maintains clinical loss prevention and risk management programs. The Manager collaborates across departments/facilities to promote patient safety, performance improvement, loss prevention and risk management activities in an enterprise risk management environment. The Manager will have a global view of the organization and is expected to exercise independent judgment in the performance of key job responsibilities.

Education/Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher degree in nursing or healthcare required
  • JD preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of healthcare risk management experience required or

  • Three (3) years of legal/paralegal experience or 3 years claims management experience required

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

  • Must maintain current professional licensures

  • Must acquire and maintain certification as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) within 5 years of hire

It all begins with you. Wells Fargo Audit Services (WFAS) conducts audits and reports the results of our work to the Audit & Examinations Committee of the Board of Directors. We provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services delivered through a highly competent and diverse team. As a business partner, Audit helps the Company accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. This position resides within the WFAS Control Executive (CE) organization, which provides front-line risk and control management across WFAS and all team members. This position is based within the Group Regulatory Relations (GRR) function, which provides regulatory activity coordination, education, and advisory support to WFAS leaders and their audit teams, ensuring the promotion of effective relations with regulatory agencies as the central point of contact for regulatory interactions. The group establishes consistent processes for the response to, and coordination of, all regulatory interactions within WFAS. It acts as the Regulatory Relations liaison for WFAS, ensuring all WFAS groups are complying with Wells Fargo's regulatory relations policies, procedures, and protocols. Additionally, this group is responsible for coordinating cross-functional review activities, establishing consistent processes to coordinate WFAS-specific review activities. Specific Duties: The group issue management position resides under the control executive for each operating committee member. The role of the control executives and group issue management teams is to partner with the issue owner and ensure compliance with the Issue Management Policy and Procedures requirements and processes. Group issue managers are responsible for the following duties and activities, either directly or indirectly in coordination with the control executive organization: * Perform timely and accurate issue management system of record entry for sources, issues, corrective actions, and milestones (group issue management team responsibility) * Assist issue and corrective action owners with writing issue description and corrective actions, defining interim controls, setting up milestones (as required), defining success criteria, determining root cause, defining sustainability, and other Issue Management Policy requirements * Help the issue owner determine if there are customer impacts and work with the appropriate customer remediation program owner to help facilitate the risk materiality remediation assessment when required (group issue management team responsibility) * Provide oversight and appropriate challenge of root cause identification, corrective action completeness, readiness for validation, evidence of sustainability, issue summary credible challenge review, and other issue management lifecycle activities * Facilitate the approval process for corrective action approvals * Partner with issue owners and independent risk management teams to determine if an issue has a cross-business or cross-business group impact * Consult with issue owners to assist with assignment of issue risk level ratings * Refer to the Escalation Management Procedures to determine if a critical- or high-rated issue that was not previously escalated requires escalation (excludes COSO issues, which are escalated through a separate process) and ensure the issue owner follows the escalation management requirements for handling issue escalations (group issue management team responsibility) * Work with issue owners to determine if an issue is affected by a statute, regulation, or internal policy * Facilitate the approval process for risk acceptance and ongoing monitoring of risk acceptance in accordance with Risk Acceptance Policy requirements to ensure risk acceptance continues to be appropriate (group issue management team responsibility) * Work with issue and corrective action owners to provide status updates that reflect progress details and the likelihood of meeting the target due date within required timeframes, and notify appropriate parties, including Regulatory Relations Coordination, of delays or obstacles (group issue management team responsibility to input updates into the issue management system) * Establish a maintenance process to monitor fields for accuracy, such as updating changes in issue ownership and fixing errors as needed (group issue management team responsibility) * Facilitate the approval process for issue due date extensions to represent actual expected completion, sustainability, and validation activities (group issue management team responsibility to input changes and approvals into the issue management system) * Review issues with extended due dates and understand risk implications, providing credible challenge as needed * Assist the issue owner with completing the issue summary memo and provide credible challenge on the memo as well as the readiness to move to the issue to pending validation or closed status when validation is not applicable (group issue management team responsibility) * Establish and execute reporting protocols for comprehensive, timely, and accurate reporting to senior management and stakeholders * Participate in issue management system of record user acceptance testing (group issue management team responsibility) * Provide centralized group support for submitting enhancements to the issue management system of record and reporting (group issue management team responsibility) Location: Charlotte, NC;
