RN Residency Program - ALL Units (Adult Health, Neuro, Ncu, Mother Baby, L&D, And OR)

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36

The RN Resident will complete fourteen (13) - (20) weeks of residency training (based on unit), during which employee will be assigned to a designated specific unit. Training under the program will include the following nursing and hospital orientations and educational elements:

Weeks 1- 2: Basic Nursing Orientation, EPIC computer orientation, Basic ECG, Soft ID Specimen Collection, Form Fast and Self-scheduling training, and unit orientation.

Weeks 3-7: Continued orientation to unit standards, procedures, protocols and nursing policy with Preceptor oversight. A gradual increase of patient load assignments during the twelve (12) hour shifts

Weeks 8-10: Continued orientation to unit standards, procedures, protocols and nursing policy with support from Preceptor. A gradual increase of patient load assignments during twelve (12) hour shifts.

Weeks 11 - 20: Full patient assignments with support from Preceptor, validation of completion of all Program expectations by the last week, and Preceptor evaluation of RN Resident.

Residency Program Start date: September 23, 2024

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, preferably a BSN program.

• Candidates must be eligible for, and/or passed, the NCLEX to obtain permanent R.N. licensure prior to residency training start date

• Current BLS from the American Heart Association.

• Have no more than 6 months of experience in an acute hospital setting as a Registered Nurse.

• Must commit to full-time employment during the entire 13-20 weeks of the program schedule.

• Able to work 12 hour shifts rotating nights, days, weekends and/or holidays

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.

Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Physical Effort required:

Constant (67%-100%) - seeing

Frequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling/feeling, talking, hearing

Occasionally (1%-33%) - climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), stooping, crouching
