RN with a year of rehab experience? Want to work in a newly renovated Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit that is part of a comprehensive, integrated team developing an individualized plan of care for patients following stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, multi-trauma and other diagnoses?

RN - Rehab Unit Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide patient care
  • Assumes individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care
  • Works in a 1:5 ration with CNAs
  • Works rotating weekends (Days 7am to 7:30 pm/Nights 7pm to 7:30 am)
  • Communicate with patients, physicians and hospital staff
  • Utilize basic computer skills

RN - Rehab Unit Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current state of Missouri RN licensure
  • BLS active, current certification
  • One year RN experience
  • Previous inpatient rehabilitation experience or other clinical experience (preferred) not required but motivated and willing to train the right candidate if they have a PASSION for Rehab

The Rehabilitation Specialist provides supportive services for clients who are experiencing problems as a result of a mental illness. Services include independent living and community integration skills assessment, training, and teaching through volunteer work units, psycho-educational classes, and activities in the community; client and family education, coordination of services, referral to other service providers, client advocacy, individual treatment and rehabilitation planning, support, crisis intervention, risk assessment and discharge. The Rehabilitation Specialist will meet productivity standards and documentation requirements to assure the viability of the program success and client outcomes. The Rehabilitation Specialist functions as a member of an interdisciplinary team for client care and planning services and works effectively in a multi-cultural setting. The Rehabilitation Specialist works under the regular supervision and direction of a QMHP. Required Skills * Bachelor's degree (Prefer social services, rehabilitation, or psychology degree) * Must have good written and oral communication skills * Skills and experience in the following: facilitating growth and reducing dependence in individuals and groups of people; assessing client needs and performance, developing individual program plans; assessing client progress; skill training and coordinating services. * Must be able to work with a multi-cultured team and clients. * A positive, energetic, enthusiastic, patient, and caring attitude is essential Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working with people with severe and persistent mental illness.
