Responsible for the deliver of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for Pediatrics (and potential medical surgical overflow) patients based on established clinical nursing practices standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Serves in the Resource Nurse role when oriented and directed. Supports the organization vision and mission. Utilizes knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrates positive outcomes in patient care.
The Registered Nurse demonstrates advanced knowledge, skills and understands the unique aspects of the population served in the care of his/her patients.
Each service also requires specialized skills.
The delivery of care is based on the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and learning needs of the individual patient.
The Registered Nurse may rotate to areas other than his/her assigned service area/s, and will perform only those duties for which he/she has demonstrated competency.
The Registered Nurse performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery at SMC.
Demonstrates good organizational skills. Provides safe and appropriate patient care within the Values & Standards of Nursing Practice at SMC.
Displays appropriate judgment and problem solving skills.
Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.
Compact RN license or Colorado RN license accepted upon hire, CO license required within 90 days of hire.
Current BLS Certification with the American Heart Association.
2 year Associate RN Degree/Diploma.
4 year RN Bachelor Degree preferred.
