Sentara Leigh Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is hiring a full time RN (Registered Nurse) in our PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit).

WITH A MINIMUM OF ONE (1) YEAR OF EXPERIENCE, WE ARE OFFERING A $15,000 SIGN ON BONUS TO THE CANDIDATE SUCCESSFULLY HIRED.

Position Overview

• Seeking experienced ICU, Med/Surg, ED, or Step-Down Registered Nurse (RN)

• Full Time, 36 hours per week 9 hour shifts

• Varied start times of 7:30 a.m., 8:00 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m.

• During orientation you will work 9 hours shifts

• Minimal On Call Requirement:3 weekdays 11:00 p.m.- 7:00 a.m. 2 shifts on a Saturday or Sunday; one day, one night. Total of 5 call shifts in a 6 week schedule. Rotating holidays equally distributed.

• Our PACU sees approximately 35 - 40 patients per day

Job Summary

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

BSN or MSN preferred. New Hire Educa
tion Requirement: All new RNs who do not have their BSN will be required to sign a BSN Agreement committing to enrollment in an accredited RN to BSN program within 24 months of hire and successfully obtaining their BSN within 5 years of hire. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty; Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire; Emergency Care- ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire; Oncology Care ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire. Women's Care- Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire. Inpatient Pediatrics. PALS within 6 months of hire. All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.

N-2YR - RN-Associate's Degree (Required), N-3YR - RN-Diploma (Non-degree) (Required), N-4YR - RN-Bachelor's Level Degree (Required), N-6YR - RN-Master's Level Degree (Required), N-DN - RN-Doctorate Level Degree
