Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
Do you like variety, having opportunities to learn new skills and want to be challenged. We are seeking an energetic, independent RN to work in our dynamic PRN pool where you will have the opportunity to work with patients in many areas of the medical field.
You will care for patients at Poudre Valley Hospital on Medical, Orthopedics, Neurology, Surgical and Cardiac units. The opportunity to transition into other areas of patient care is available. This is a perfect position for you if you are looking for flexibility in scheduling and opportunities to try new areas or expand your skills.
There is also opportunity to work in outpatient areas and in other UCHealth facilities in Northern Colorado. The minimum requirement is 48 hours per month on night shift; 24 hours of the 48 on weekends; 2 major holidays per year. Additional hours open on day, evening, or night shift.
Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care is preferred.
BLS form the American Heart Association is required.
Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
Skills and Abilities
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, and take appropriate action. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
6 mos. Nursing experience in acute care
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant unit certification requirement.
Graduate of an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience.
