Purpose of Job Position

As a Consulate Health Care Clinical Nurse I-RN/Registered Nurse, you are entrusted with the responsibility of caring for our residents, families, co-workers, visitors, and all others; as well as demonstrating in all interactions, Consulate Health Care's five core values of Compassion, Honesty, Integrity, Respect, and Passion. The primary purpose of the Registered Nurse/RN is to provide direct nursing care to the residents, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.

Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the Director of Clinical Services to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. You are entrusted to provide innovative, responsible healthcare with the creation and implementation of new ideas and concepts that continually improve systems and processes to achieve superior results.

Job Function

As Clinical Nurse I-RN/Registered Nurse, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. Responsible for providing direct resident care in accordance with established plans.

Supervises Nurse Techs. This job description does not list all the duties of the job. You may be asked by the supervisors or mangers to perform other duties.

Job Requirements

The Registered Nurse/RN should have the ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served. Ability to be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and team concept.

Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.

Education and Experience

Graduate/completion of approved/accredited school of nursing. Valid license as an RN in the state of practice.

Two years nursing experience preferred in a setting serving the same age/type of resident population served by this facility.

VIEW JOBS 10/21/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-19T00:00 PURPOSE: The medical support staff at 21st Century Oncology is a specifically trained group of individuals who have demonstrated expertise in dealing with patients and their special needs. The Registered Nurse assists the Physician, as needed, to ensure the health and safety of our patients during all aspects of their care. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Remaining with the Physician at all times in the exam room unless asked to step out or sent to schedule a study * Assisting the doctor in all aspects of the patient's initial consultation, and: 1. Weekly status checks 2. Routine follow-up examinations 3. Any emergency visits that are needed. * Scheduling and follow-up on all diagnostic studies that are ordered including proper documentation and obtaining Physician's signature on test result * Responsible for acquiring results and documenting said results on all interim reports to the Physician and then to the chart * Charting information of patient progress on weekly status check sheets and scuts and providing copies of notes (scut) to Front Desk Receptionist * Drawing of blood for various lab tests that are sent out and following up on results of lab including obtaining Physician's signature on test results * Attending annual OSHA/Biomedical update meetings and application in the clinical setting of the updates * Documentation of medications that the patients are currently taking, and document any new medications prescribed by our Physicians while under our care to include the name of the medication, dose and amount prescribed, Physician prescribing, instructions, date and Nurse's initials * Documentation of any samples given to patient * Responsible for charting patient's vital signs, initial weight, and all follow-up weights * Verifying that the allergy sticker is complete * Once aware, responsible for reporting or verifying all patient problems and reporting to appropriate personnel * Maintain HIPAA rules and regulations as it applies to patient privacy * Maintain open communication with front desk, Physician, and other staff as it applies to: 1. Patient add-ons 2. Patients on treatment breaks 3.
