Job Description
Summary:
The Registered Nurse Clinical Educator II (RNCE) will assess, plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate the clinical opportunities and strategies for improving delivery of diabetic patient care and staff education regarding such. The RNCE will act as a liaison with all multi-disciplinary departments and services concerning diabetes education. The RNCE will develop and provide diabetes education for patients and their families on an inpatient and outpatient basis as directed.

Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited RN program required
BSN preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Minimum of three years clinical RN experience required
Minimum of three years experience managing the care of patients with both Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes Familiarity with insulin pumps preferred
Current Texas RN license required
Certified Diabetic Educator (CDE) preferred. If not CDE at time of hire, successful completion of CDE exam within 2 years of hire/transfer date is required to remain in position
Current BLS certification required
