Job Summary: Provide recruitment and retention support for nursing staff of the Hospital. Joint reporting relationship to the Vice President Human Resources and Chief Nursing Officer.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

1.Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to interact with different levels of understanding.

2.Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.BSN required.

2.At least 5 years of experience in nursing recruitment and retention either as a nurse recruiter or a nurse manager required.

3.At least 5 years of experience working in a hospital setting.

4.Knowledge of national recruiting challenges associated with nursing shortages required.

5.Experience networking with nurses through a variety of professional venues preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core Competencies

Utilize technical recruiting knowledge and expertise to develop strategy for sourcing and recruitment for Patient Care Division to attract and hire competent staff.

Employ a variety of "best practice" recruiting channels (traditional and non-traditional) to source openings to potential candidates. Develop and maintain relationship with employment agencies and recruitment sources. Utilize online sources and social media.

Analyze and accordingly execute the terms and conditions outlined in the collective bargaining agreement in the recruitment, selection and hiring of bargaining unit staff.

Develop pipeline of candidates from Colleges, Social Media channels, job fairs. Conduct campus recruitment to hire prospective clinical staff.

Screen application/resume; evaluate applicant skills and make recommendations regarding applicant's qualifications. Conduct candidate interviews. Make job offers in partnership with Hiring Manager

Partner with the CNO and VPHR to market, promote and articulate the Brattleboro Retreat Brand to potential candidates. Attend conferences and seminars to stay up to date with market trends, advancements in the field and technology improvements. Work with the Marketing department to develop Marketing and Advertising campaigns to support Recruitment strategy.

Participate in On Boarding process of staff. Participate in conducting new employee orientations. Conduct first level of Stay Interviews

Achieve established key performance recruitment indicator goals and aggressively monitor outcomes against metrics; use on-going quality improvement processes to adjust strategies and tactics to achieve successful results.

Regularly attend Nurse Leadership staff meetings to further enhance understanding of current and evolving operational issues that impact staff recruitment and retention. Assist with development of promotional pathways for clinical staff. Help to identify and address retention needs for clinical staff.

In conjunction with CNO, Director of Clinical Education, develop promotional pathways for the cultivation of new and future skilled nurses.

Partner with CNO and VPHR to develop and implement succession planning to proactively recruit against forecasted nursing staff needs for new and replacement staff.
