Overview

Pre Admission Testing (PAT) is a Monday - Friday department that focuses on gathering necessary data for surgical patients. The PAT Registered Nurse (RN) performs assessments and evaluations both via phone and in person depending on the needs of the patient.

The PAT RN obtains an intensive medical history, medication list, necessary orders and H&Ps. The RN also perform tasks including but not limited to obtaining medical reports from specialty areas such as cardiology and pulmonology, drawing labs, getting an EKG, arranging for a chest x-ray and anesthesia consults. The PAT RN monitors for abnormal lab and test results and works collaboratively with physicians to ensure that patients are ready to safely proceed with the scheduled surgery.

Pre-Admission Testing RNs provides patient education for both pre-op and post-op. The RN works with an interdisciplinary team. They teach the Joint Academy classes to patients undergoing total joint replacements.

The PAT RN is also responsible for registering total joint patients for participation in the Recovery Coach Program. The PAT RN monitors their schedule as well as the surgery schedule for add-ons and changes so they may adjust their workload as necessary. The RN will utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and the policies, procedures and standards of the Health System. The RN will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts.

This position is a designated as "Safety Sensitive Position" under Act 593 of the State of Arkansas. An employee who is under the influence of Marijuana constitutes a threat to patients/customers which Conway Regional is responsible for in providing and supporting the delivery health care related services.

VIEW JOBS 9/16/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-12-15T00:00 Overview The Outpatient Interventional Unit (OIU) Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care to patients undergoing an outpatient procedure, including but not limited to cardiology procedures, radiology interventions, pain management procedures, and bronchoscopy. Cardiology procedures may include care before and after the following: cardiac catheterization, transesophageal echocardiogram, angiograms, arteriograms, and cardioversion. Radiology procedures may include care before and after lumbar punctures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and biopsies. Pain management procedures may be performed at the bedside or in an interventional specials laboratory. Bronchoscopy may be performed at the bedside or in the bronchoscopy lab. Post procedure, the OIU RN will assess and/or recover the patient, and notify the physician when necessary, document appropriately, as well as educate and discharge the patient in a timely manner. The RN will utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and the policies, procedures, and standards of the Health System.
