The OHSU Clinical registered nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities and patient populations. The Clinical RN's care delivery is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics. The Clinical RN demonstrates the professional role obligations of scientist, leader, practitioner, and knowledge transferor [O'Rourke Model of the Professional Role]. Function/Duties of Position
Hiring Bonus up to $10,000 DOE and Relocation Package Available. Must start by July 1, 2024 to qualify.
$49.16-$78.18 per hour, based on RN Degree and level of experience
Monitor patient lab and diagnostic study results, present abnormal results to the physician for review execute physicians ordersseeking clarification as needed
Provide ongoing patient/family education; participate in on site post-transplant clinics
Facilitate referrals to appropriate health care professionals
Triage and respond to patient phone calls
MyChart, and RightFax requests
Assess potential or actual patient health problems, recognizing and responding to emergent situations;
Document according to established policies and procedures.
Follow up of transplant call-ins; provide initial patient/family post-transplant education;
Participate in discharge rounds and coordinating discharge needs with interdisciplinary team
Provide biopsy teaching, order entry, and follow up of results, coordination/routing of refill requests.
Share in current RN coverage and responsibilities, which can include daily patient care tasks or covering specific patient load for a day or extended period of time.
Develop, coordinate, and implement changes in the nursing process as it relates to transplant
Assume responsibility for professional/job related development; incorporate quality improvement practices into performance.
Other projects as assigned by manager and department director including cross coverage of pre if needed.
Required Qualifications
Associate of Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA)
*BSN preferred *Associate Degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program with 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire
Minimum 3-5 years recent acute-care hospital nursing (at time of hire).
Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English.
Basic computer skills including the ability to send/receive email, navigate information technology associated with the position, and use Electronic Health Record information and tools.
Current unencumbered Oregon RN license.
Obtain unencumbered Washington RN license within 2 months of hire date.
Obtain unecumbered RN licenses in additonal states, as needed for program, per leadership.
Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or the Military Training Network
