We are searching for a talented Per Diem ICU RN, Level II

Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

Hours: Per Diem

Shift: Level II per diem nurses will normally be required to be available to work a minimum of twenty (20) hours each week within a six (6) week time schedule, including six (6) weekend shifts per schedule.

Such weekend shifts must be a minimum of eight (8) hours each. The hours that a per diem nurse must be available to work will be available to the per diem nurse from the open shifts in the schedule after full and part-time nurses have indicated their preferred schedule. Level II per diem nurses will be required to provide availability to work every other holiday, including Christmas once in a two (2) year rotation. Such holiday shifts must be a minimum of eight (8) hours each.

SLH-ICU/SICU is part of a Level II Trauma center and is comprised of 24 beds. Our Critical Care Unit provides exceptional care to a multitude of critically ill patients. This includes hemodynamically unstable patients of varying diagnoses including, but not limited to: acute respiratory failure, acute MI with and without intervention, cardiogenic shock, heart blocks, life threatening arrhythmias, sepsis/septic shock, renal failure, DKA, acute CVA, hypertensive crisis, acute GI bleed, multiple trauma, multi-system organ failure and major surgical cases including vascular and neurosurgical services.

Responsibilities

Under direction of the Manager, Patient Services or designee of individual assigned unit, perform a variety of duties involving coordinating total nursing care for patients, participating in patient and family teaching and providing leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice within an assigned patient care unit. Has knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which is appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent is required.

• Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

• One plus years of ICU RN experience is required.

Pay Range

USD $38.81 - USD $67.58 /Hr.

Rotation Schedule Requirement

Every other weekend and holiday
