Position Summary:

Provides for the planning, coordination, and provision of nursing care to patients in the Pediatric Unit on specified shifts. This position is responsible for care planning, medication administration, noting of physiological changes, and psychosocial needs of pediatric patients as well as the education/training of the patient and their family. Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice and will be cross trained and float to NICU.

Required Experience/Desired Training/Education/Certification:

3 years pediatric nursing expereince

Previous experience with newborns requiring step-down care.

Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and work accurately in a fast-paced environment.

Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.

Must be fluent in spoken and written English.

Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Job Summary: * Reporting to the Unit Patient Care Services Director, the RN Residency Program Intern is responsible for actively participating in classroom training relating to the SVRMC RN New Grad Residency Program. * Must work within training outline, which does not include RN licensure (pending NCLEX). #LI-RT2 Required Training/Education/Experience/Certification: (1) Graduate of RN program (awaiting NCLEX testing) (2) Current BLS Certificate (3) ACLS certificate (within 1 year of hire). (4) Successful completion of Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (within 1 year of hire) (5) Successful completion of assigned didactic, on-line and classroom training (within timeframe allowed).
