The Registered Nurse (RN) - CVOR/Operating Room oversees and directs the care of surgical patients. The Surgery RN is responsible for the care of patients in all-surgical specialties. The RN serves as primary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Oversees and directs the care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to assigned patients. When the need arises, the RN will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
  • (BSN preferred)

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Alaska RN License in this state (required)
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider - must obtain within 30 days from hire date.
  • ACLS - must obtain within 6 months from date of hire.
  • PALS - must obtain within 6 months from date of hire.

EXPERIENCE:

  • One-year experience in acute care (required).
  • CVOR experience (required).

A Registered Nurse (RN) in Rehab renders individualized comprehensive nursing care to meet patients' physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural and educational needs. The RN provides the best possible preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care to each patient based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedure; coordinates functions with physicians and other departments of the hospital in a spirit that fosters positive working relationships. * Current State of Alaska RN license required. * Two years experience in Rehab preferred. * Current BLS and ACLS Healthcare Provider certification with American Heart Association required. * Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required. * Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. * Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. * Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment and be able to exert up to 100 lbs. force occasionally, and/or 50 lbs. frequently, and/or 20 lbs. constantly.
