Job Description

The Oncology Nurse Navigator facilitates the appropriate and efficient delivery of healthcare services, within and across systems, and serves as the key contact to promote optimal outcomes while delivering patient-centered care. The Oncology Nurse Navigator will have oncology-specific clinical knowledge and will offer individualized assistance to patients, families and caregivers to help overcome healthcare system barriers. Utilizing the nursing process, the Oncology Nurse Navigator provides education and resources to facilitate informed decision-making and timely access to quality health and psychosocial care throughout all phases of the cancer continuum. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Qualifications

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

• Current registration to practice nursing in the state of practice

• Obtains required CEU's and maintains all state required courses.

• Must obtain oncology specific certification (i.e., OCN, ONN-CG, BMTCN) within 1 year of hire. Maintains current BLS/healthcare provider certification

Kind and Length of Experience:

• Five years' experience in Nursing or related field
