A registered professional nurse employed by Erlanger Medical Center is responsible for direct and/or indirect care of the patients within Volkswagen Onsite Medical Clinic. Responsible of ensuring the day to day efficiency and effectiveness of care delivered to the employees of VW onsite medical clinic.
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
De-escalation training, if applicable
Bachelor's of Science Degree preferred
Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills; knowledge of organizational functions, policies and regulations; knowledge of current trends and new developments; knowledge of principles and practices of nursing, applicable to those areas requiring special education. A minimum of one year RN experience
Certified Occupational Health Nurse
Experience in coordination of patient care or case management
Knowledge of workers' compensation
Charge Nurse Experience
Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee
BLS prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward
ACLS within 90 days of hire
Professional Collectors Certification with-in 30 days
The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.
Department Position Summary:
The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive care appropriate to the age of the patients seen in the Volkswagen Onsite Medical Clinic. A Registered Nurse in the Volkswagen Occupational Medicine Clinic is responsible for direct and indirect patient care and treatment directed by the provider.
The individual must demonstrate knowledge and ability to recognize emergent situations and act promptly and appropriately based on the patients needs. Coordinate, assess and develop treatment plans with the onsite physician or nurse practitioner and set appropriate return to work goals. Maintain accurate records and appropriate documentation of patient care within occupational medicine specific software. Maintain quality assurance standards and offer continuum of care.
Must demonstrate competency within 30 days of employment in occupational medicine testing to include audiometry, titmus eye exam, spirometry, phlebotomy, breath alcohol testing and drug screen collection.
Clinical competency is evaluated annually using a variety of mechanisms. It focuses on the population-specific needs of the customers served by the staff member.
