The Nurse Manager provides continuous nursing care in the assigned area(s) in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the Hospital and within the framework of established policies and procedures of the Department of Nursing Services. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the clinical leadership and coordination of all nursing personnel. As a key team member in the clinical area, the Nurse Manager promotes a climate of effective performance through role modeling, willingness to learn and teach, and availability to patients and staff. Organizes, manages and coordinates nursing services and will assure quality nursing care utilizing the nursing process, as outlined by the Nurse Practice Act. Functions as representative for Chief Nursing Officer, in the CNO's absence.
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing or baccalaureate program required (BSN). Registered Nurse in the state of California. Equivalent combination of experience and education acceptable.
Three (3) years of clinical experience in psychiatric nursing, including House Supervisor and Charge Nurse experience required.Through working knowledge of Hospital, Nursing and HR policies/procedures, with demonstrated ability to use skills in clinical and managerial situations. Experience with clinical infection prevention practices and employee health required.
Current and valid: California Registered Nurse (RN) License; CPR; Handle With Care (30 days to obtain from hire).
