Experience/Requirements:

The Nurse Extern is an student nurse who provides patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The Nurse Extender performs duties, such as feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, or moving patients, or changing linens; provides safe and effective care to the patient; is customer-oriented and able to communicate with all levels of staff, patients, families, and / or significant others while working collaboratively with all team members. The Nurse Extender role is designed to augment the nursing staff, there by maintaining quality care for patients. Primary role is to be responsive to patient needs.

• Currently enrolled in a nursing program/attending an accredited nursing school.

• Completed fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Registered Nursing program.

• Proof of AHA or ARC BLS (CPR) training (within one year of hire).

• Competent computer usage.

• Exhibits exceptional customer and personal service to patients, visitors, team members.
